Alfred Sisley - Wintermorgen (1874)
Unlike Claude Monet or Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley exclusively painted landscapes. In this morning winter scene, he portrayed vibrant colors, juxtaposing the radiant blue of the sky and river against the orange hues of the bushes and trees. The long shadows of the poplars infuse the composition with rhythmic tension.
