Bilder einer oberbayerischen Landschaft mit Bergen, Dorf, Kirche und blühendem Feld im Vordergund

Günter Frühmesser, one of the best-known landscape artists in Germany, has a unique way of capturing the mood of his subjects in his paintings. Frühmesser was born on August 25, 1958, in Dusseldorf, and currently resides in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps.

His father, also an artist, played a significant role in his artistic development. At just twelve years old, Günther's father taught him how to prepare the colors on his palette. From that moment, Günther knew he wanted to become an artist, and he began to paint landscapes and floral work.

Although Frühmesser went on to further his education at university, studying political economy, he still devoted all his leisure time to his art. During the years 1980 – 84, he went on study trips to Southern France and Italy, and in 1987 he spent a year in England and Scotland studying the old masters in the major galleries. In 1988, he devoted himself to watercolor painting, but later switched back to pure oil painting, which has been his chosen medium ever since.

Frühmesser's paintings are characterized by a detailed and high-contrast style of painting. He spends a significant amount of time outdoors, capturing the beauty of the natural world, from the vibrant colors of wildflowers to the stark contrast of mountain ranges. His paintings convey a sense of movement and vitality, with vibrant brushstrokes that evoke the emotional intensity of his subjects.

Frühmesser's work has been exhibited in Germany, Austria, Great Britain, and the USA. He is known for his unique approach to landscape painting, which has been influenced by his travels and his deep love of nature. His paintings offer a sense of tranquility and harmony, encouraging the viewer to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the natural world
