Raimundo Madrazo Garreta - Fiesta de carnaval - 1879

In 1879, the Spanish painter Raimundo Madrazo Garreta created this painting of a carnival party. It was recently discovered in a private collection and is on view for the first time in Belas Artes. The artist's vivid use of color, reinforced by intricate detail and decorative elements, puts him in the company of other Spanish masters from his time, like Eugenio López de Lerma.
